1)Edges represent boundaries between objects and backgrounds.
2)Simple way of composing an image and generally results in a very "open",peaceful photograph.
3)An edge can be defined as a set contiguous pixel positions.
We went on a photography trip and learned more about edges.
Paper Edges
we sketched edges.
paper edges phototshoot:
Cut Paper Edges
what is a concertina book?
A concertina book is similar to the Chinese and Japanese orihon which is a scroll fold back and forth to make it easier to read and its still used in some countries today.
Cut paper edges:
Frańcis Bruguiére started taking photographs of paper with shapes on it.So today me and my partner Maryam took some today , if you look up those are the pictures we took using paper cut edges...
the reason why i think this photograph is the best out of the 5 we took today is because it's focused.
This right here is a picture of a concertina book.A concertina-fold photo book is a long accordion-like sheet folded into 6 sections that are equally big.On each side, there is spce for printing six pictures;counting both sides it adds up to 12 photos for displaying your fondest memories.
paper edges analysis.
These pictures were made by using a scapel and cut different lines and shapes and then after thats done you curve or scrunch up the paper so you an see the light coming through the lines.I can see straight lines ,diagonal lines, curved lines ,overlap lines and they also made shapes. The Francis Bruguiere picture its really dark in the corners but as you can see in the middle and a little bit in the corner theres bright light shining through and its mainly focused on the light.Th Vjeko Sager picture its mainly light then darkness but in between the lines theres darkness and in the corners theres a little bit of darkness. The first picture is dark and complicated because its hard to describe. The second picture is just simple and empty because its not that eyecatching and compared to the other picture. In addition to this both of the pictures have light in it.
edges assessment.
Edges comparison
In the first picture I can see that the picture is in black and white, there is a broken mirror with written on it ,it says "sick of goodbyes".You can tell that the person who took this photograph used spray paint because the writing is dripping down.On one of the mirrors you can see that the person who took picture is holding a toy skeleton and on the right hand side theres a small cross. On the other mirror theres a frame backwards. The picture is portrait. The second picture I can see see more vibrant colours than the first one.You can tell that it's a colourful plant pot and at the bottom of it theres a brick and loads of strings are just lying around on it.At the start of the plant pot it's red but when you look at the top of it goes a browny gold colour. It was made by Lorenzo Vitturi. The main similarities with two photos is that they both have objects. The differences between these pictures are: the first photo is all dark and spooky but the second picture is all colourful, vibrant and doesn't looks depressing. The tones is very dark and looks like its been shaded in.Picture 2 has more colour and doesn't look dull it looks more like a joyful photo and the tones are more bright. The black and white, the one thing that sticked me the most and was interesting is when the photographer is holding the skeleton in the mirror. In the black and white photo theres all sharp edges there is not alot of round shaped. In the coloured one theres various different kind of edges theres round, sharp and staright or round lines. If I met Robert I would ask hime what made you do this type of theme.
actually I could print out my photos I will be uploading them to my website later and get feedback from my family members and ask them www about my project and a ebi.
Here is my edges homework I have put them in different forms and shapes now I will tell you the feedback my mum gave to me. WWW:my mum said that these pictures are beautiful and the way there laid out are really good. I asked her what was her favourite picture and she said the ones that are focused on one object in the picture.EBI:if the pictures wasn’t all far apart from each other. I hope you enjoy my pictures sir.
